Trustees are the Foundation of the Electric Cooperative
More than 75 years ago, a group of local visionaries came together to join the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association's (NRECA) rural movement to secure electricity in our community. These original local leaders were farmers and ranchers, business owners and community members, just like the trustees who currently serve and lead our electric cooperative today. These leaders constitute the Lane-Scott Electric Board of Trustees, and are vital to our cooperative. Read what it means to be a trustee, and how to apply to run for a trustee position voted upon at our Annual Meeting in July.

But our unrelenting Western Kansas weather, especially the wind, can cause extended outages like the December windstorm and recent March blizzard.
Read this article to find out the process of restoring outages, what Lane-Scott does to prepare for outages, how we keep the impact to a minimum, and what you need to do to report an outage.
