Providing Power for What Matters
At Lane-Scott Electric Cooperative, our mission is to enrich the lives of our members, communities, and employees with electrical service guided by a solid foundation in safety, ethics, morals, and dedication.
We strive to focus on the future while providing service at a reasonable cost, continually seeking and pursuing sustainable opportunities. We are guided by our founding Cooperative principles, serving the best interests of our members.
Lane-Scott Electric was founded in 1941 as part of a National movement to provide electricity to rural areas. The initial charter was organized by J.A. Niedens, Charles Bretz, R.L. Harper, Ray Terwilliger, Charles Strobel, R.O. Preusch, Carl A. Greenburg, O.J. Unruh, and D.W. Steward.
Currently LSEC serves roughly 2,650 voting members by providing electricity to over 6,000 homes, businesses, agricultural and farming facility meters connected to 2,044 miles of line spanning throughout our eight county service area.

ACSI Score
American Consumer Satisfaction Index
As a member owned cooperative, we have a high standard of transparency with our members and communities served. To measure our member's satisfaction, Lane-Scott Electric outsources a third party contractor to conduct a satisfaction survey. As part of the survey, an ACSI index is calculated to give an industry standard rating. We were very pleased with the high score of 89, above the Touchstone Energy Cooperatives, all Cooperatives, Industry Owned Utilities (IOUs), and Municipal Utility Companies averages.
