Chris Roberts, an upcoming Dighton High School senior, spent part of his summer as an intern with the Lane-Scott Electric Information Technology Department. He assisted Carrie Borell, network director and chief information officer, with various tasks including asset inventory, installing hardware, technology solutions, and networking projects.
Roberts wants to pursue a career in IT but wanted to gain real-world experience to help him decide on a specific field. He is considering enrolling in the IT program at Fort Hays Tech North Central after high school graduation next year.
“It’s exciting to see a young adult who’s interested in pursuing an IT career,” Borell said. “He’s very passionate and enjoys learning about the many possibilities in the industry. I’m excited to see where his path takes him.”
