Lane-Scott Offers Additional Education Scholarships as a Replacement for Cancelled Youth Tour Trips
Lane-Scott Electric is sorry to announce that the 2021 Washington DC Youth Tour and Kansas Electric Youth Leadership Camp trips have been cancelled again this year. The Kansas Electric Cooperatives, Inc. Board of Trustees voted to cancel all out-of-state youth programs for 2021.
Instead, the Lane-Scott Electric Board of Trustees decided to offer SIX $1,500 Continuing Education Scholarships! “Last year we received so many applications from qualified and deserving high school and college students, said Richard McLeon, general manager. "This seemed like a good opportunity to use funds that normally would not be available. We are excited to be able to help more of our local kids achieve their education goals.”
We fully intend to continue sponsoring the Youth Tour and Leadership Camp in the future, in the meantime we can support our youth in other ways.
