This year, Lane-Scott Electric held our fourth annual Food Drive Challenge with local area elementary schools! The Dighton, Ness City, and Western Plains Elementary Schools joined in to help stock the Lane County and Ness County Food Banks before summer. The kids, as always, did an amazing job to help a great cause and had fun with a little friendly class competition!
Every class that participated got a treat from Lane-Scott, but the winning class who collected the most items from each school won a pizza party and $100 to help with next year’s school supplies.
The Ness County Food Bank, located in Ransom said this is the largest donation they have ever received at one time! The Western Plains South Elementary School K-5th grades contributed 208 items, Western Plains North K-5th 835 items, and Ness City Elementary who participated for the first time this year collected 427 items. The Dighton Elementary School PreK – 6th grade students collected 2,034 items that were donated to the Lane County Food Bank in Dighton!
