Lane-Scott Electric and Local Elementary Schools Help Supply Food Banks for Summer
This year marked the fifth year Lane-Scott Electric partnered with local elementary schools to collect items to help fill the shelves of our Lane County Food Bank in Dighton and Ness County Food Bank in Ransom.
Dighton Elementary, Western Plains Elementary North, and Sacred Heart in Ness City joined in the cause, and as always did an amazing job collecting items while having a little friendly class competition. The classroom at each school who collected the most items won a pizza party and $100 for the winning classroom to help with next year’s school supplies. Students are encouraged to reach out to the community to collect items, so thank you to everyone who donated items!
“There are a lot of activities at the schools this time of year, but having pantries stocked before kids are home for the summer is so important,” said Ann Marie Jennings, Lane-Scott Electric Member Services. “We appreciate the effort the school staff and students took out of their busy schedules for this cause.”
