Lane-Scott Board of Trustee Election Information and Nominating Committee Meeting Notice
Lane-Scott Electric Board of Trustee terms rotate every three years between the nine trustee positions and the four county district territories. Every year, the trustee positions whose terms expire are open to members and incumbent trustees who wish to run for an additional term. Qualified candidates will be referred to the Lane-Scott Electric nominating committee who will approve candidates to run for election based upon the qualifications listed in our bylaws and below.

Qualifications to be a Lane-Scott Electric Trustee
Members who wish to run for election must meet these basic qualifications:
1. Be a bona fide resident of the county or counties the member is to represent.
2. Using, receiving or purchasing a cooperative electric service in the represented county.
3. Does not have a conflict of interest.
4. Has not been an employee of the cooperative within the past five years.
Having expertise in the electrical field is not a requirement. The board of trustees consist of individuals who represent the full gamut of the Lane-Scott membership, who have a passion for the community and willingness to actively serve and learn. It takes many people with different skills to create a well-rounded board. Board members receive specialized training opportunities to help trustees gain a deeper understanding of the electric utility industry and the cooperative business model. The board meets once a month, typically on the fourth Monday.
