Empowering the Future: Lane-Scott Electric Awards Scholarships to Aspiring Leaders
Each year, Lane-Scott Electric proudly invests in the future by awarding continuing education scholarships to outstanding students pursuing higher education. These scholarships recognize academic achievement, community involvement, and future educational goals.

This year’s recipients are:
Peityn Beckman, daughter of Brent and Jean Kerr of Ness City, is a 2024 graduate of Ness City High School and attended her first year at Fort Hays State last year. Peityn’s educational goals are to receive a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing and return to Ness County Hospital to work while completing an online program through FHSU to obtain her master’s and become an Advance Practice Registered Nurse.
Cheyenne Cramer, daughter of Ben and Kara Cramer of Healy, graduated from Scott Community High School in 2024, and attended Labette Community College in Parson, KS last year. She will be transferring to Colby Community College for the next school year. Her goal is to complete an elementary education degree and become an elementary school teacher.
Lakin Getz is the son of Levi and Kelli Getz of Quinter, KS. Lakin will return to the University of Nebraska Kearney pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in finance and business with an emphasis in financial planning and organization. Upon graduation, he hopes to return to a smaller community to start his own financial planning business.
Kaylee Hendrickson is the daughter of Jessica and Michael Hendrickson. Kaylee was a 2023 graduate of Hodgeman County High School, has been attending Fort Hays State University and will soon begin the Radiologic Technology Program.
Jace Miller, son of Joel and Calista Miller of Scott City. Jace is a recent graduate of Scott Community High School planning to attend the University of Wyoming to pursue a degree in ranch management and agricultural leadership. His goal is to integrate traditional ranching skills with modern science and leadership to create a community-focused operation to benefit both people and the land.
Ayden Whipple, daughter of Layton and Jennifer Whipple of Beeler, KS, graduated from Dighton High School in May 2024. Last year, she attended Fort Hays State University and applied to begin the nursing program this fall. She plans to receive her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing, then a master’s in administration. Her goal is to become a trauma/ER nurse.
