Lane-Scott Electric Announces Electric Cooperative Youth Tour and Cooperative Youth Leadership Camp Delegates

For decades, students from electric cooperatives nationwide with ambition to become the leaders of their generation, who strive to discover their voice, to grow and invest in their future have attended the Electric Cooperative Youth Tour in Washington, D.C. and the Cooperative Youth Leadership Camp near Steamboat Springs, Colorado.

Lane-Scott Electric is once again proud to sponsor these exceptional high school students along their journey and look forward to seeing what the future holds for each of them.

This year, Lane-Scott Electric has selected Karlee Whipple, Kalvesta, and Maria Limones, Bazine, to attend the Electric Cooperative Youth Tour. During the tour, students will see their nation’s capital, experience history up close by visiting world-class museums and monuments, meet with elected officials and learn how government impacts their communities, develop leadership skills through hands-on experiences and workshops, learn about cooperatives and how they support rural communities across America, strengthen their resumes with a nationally recognized program that stands out to colleges and employers, and connect with peers from 44 states building friendships that last long after the trip.

Keri Crisler, Dighton, and Alliah Garza, Bazine, are joining students from cooperative communities in Colorado, Kansas, Oklahoma and Wyoming in July to travel to the beautiful Rocky Mountains for the Cooperative Youth Leadership Camp. During this week-long adventure, campers will engage in activities to develop leadership and speaking skills, learn about democracy, gain an understanding of the cooperative business model, and hear testimonials from influential leaders. Along with professional development, they will experience the beauty of the area through a variety of outdoor activities including white-water rafting and hiking.

Congratulations to all our winners!
