Gerome Copeland was elected to represent the Ness and Rush County District during the 2024 Lane-Scott Annual Meeting.
Gerome is a farmer and rancher in Ness County. He graduated from Ness City High School in 1991, then attended NCK in Beloit graduating from the heavy equipment department in 1992. After graduation, he took a job with L & M Contractors, a bridge building company, out of Great Bent, KS as an equipment operator.
In 2000, Gerome and his wife Kristie, moved home where he took a job as the assistant supervisor at the Ness County Road and Bridge and became involved in the family farm. In 2009, he was promoted to supervisor of the road and bridge.
Now, he’s a full-time farmer rancher, and their family has grown with two daughters Gwendolyn and Gretchen.
Previous board experience includes the Ness County Amusement Company board from 2008 to 2018, and four years on his church’s board of trustees.
