Congratulations to the 2026 Lane-Scott Electric Cooperative and CoBank Sharing Success Grant Recipients
Lane-Scott Electric, as a member of CoBank, has the opportunity to participate in the Sharing Success grant program. CoBank makes a huge impact donating $6 million annually providing $12 million in match funds to support local organizations across the United States in their projects and philanthropies. Through this partnership, Lane-Scott Electric and CoBank awarded four $1,000 grants this year to a few of the many deserving organizations. The projects receiving a grant this year are:
Camp Lakeside
Camp Lakeside, as part of the Great Plains Camps, LLC, operates summer camps for youth and children in June and July, and hosts retreat groups, family reunions, and weddings throughout the year. The grant will be used to purchase an upgraded AED unit, benefiting all guests at Camp Lakeside and possibly those visiting Lake Scott State Park.
Lane County 4-H Council
The Lane County 4-H Council is using their grant to purchase and install durable livestock pens for sheep, goats, and swine in the new fairgrounds barn. The pens will provide a safe, organized, and functional space for our youth to house and exhibit their animals during the county fair and other educational livestock events throughout the year. Additionally, these upgrades help sustain agricultural education and youth development in our rural communities. Ensure the next generation is equipped with the skills and knowledge needed to contribute to the local agricultural economy.
Lane County Improvement District
The Lane County Improvement District maintains the sewer and streetlights for Healy as well as the towns storm sirens. The Sharing Success grant will be used for updates needed for the two storm sirens as well as toward the continued maintenance of the streetlights.
Ness County Farm Bureau “Producers with Purpose”
The goal of the Producers with Purpose program is to provide high-quality, locally raised beef to area schools and senior centers throughout the year. To achieve their goal, the Farm Bureau intends to raise funds through grants, local business sponsorships, county contributions, and donated beef. This program will not only provide better, more nutritious food to our schools and seniors, but supports economic activity across farmers, suppliers, retailers, and service providers. A stronger and more stable local economy promotes healthier households and businesses. Producers with Purpose is accepting both financial donations to cover processing costs as well as live animal donations. This year, we received 18 applications for well-deserved community projects. It’s always hard to select only four recipients. The 2027 application period will begin in January. Please continue to submit applications to fund projects or purposes for the betterment of our communities and rural economy. As a reminder, projects must serve a public purpose and benefit a community or communities who receive electric service from Lane-Scott Electric or whose purpose benefits members of Lane-Scott Electric.
