Come See Our New Overhead Safety Demonstration Trailer
The Lane-Scott Electric Safety Team has been hard at work building a Safety Demonstration Trailer to assist in electrical safety trainings. We are excited to announce it is fully operational and ready to provide electrical training to member businesses, schools, and events! Our Safety Team has been providing trainings for our first responders, students at the Farm Bureau Ag Safety Day, and others as requested, but without a trailer, they had to borrow other cooperative’s trailers.
The demonstration is set on an open trailer equipped with poles, wires, transformers, meters, and other items to show how electricity works. The demonstration includes what happens when various objects, or a person, come into contact with electricity, how to identify an energized line, what protective gear the linemen use, why electricity arcs, and why birds can safely sit on an energized line.
“We are excited to have our own trailer,” said Chris Terhune, safety coordinator. “We’ll be more accessible to our members and be able to provide even more electrical safety education. Regardless of someone’s age, electrical education is important. We hope to have the opportunity to provide training not only to our first responders and students, but to farmers and large equipment operators.”
To schedule a demonstration, contact Lane-Scott Electric at 620-397-5327 or 800-407-2217 during normal business hours.
To kick-off the new trailer, we are extending an invitation to everyone to attend a safety demonstration on Nov. 11 or 12, complimentary dinner included. RSVPs are required by Nov. 6 by calling our office.
