2026 Continuing Education Scholarship Recipients
We are excited to celebrate this year’s Continuing Education Scholarship recipients. These individuals have demonstrated a commitment to learning, growth and educational excellence. Please join us in congratulating them!
Kamryn Anderson is the daughter of Kevin and Valerie Anderson from McCracken. Kamryn graduated from Lacrosse High School in May. In the fall, she will attend Fort Hays State University to pursue a degree in early childhood education. After completing her degree, she would like to teach at a rural school or child care center where they are faced with shortages of teachers and limited access to educational resources.
Cally Cramer is the daughter of Mark and Cindy Cramer of Healy. Cally graduated from Scott City High School in May 2024 then attended Colby Community College last year. Next year she plans to attend Fort Hays State University working toward a degree in elementary education, eventually pursuing a master’s degree in library science. In the future, she hopes to return to western Kansas to give back to the type of community she grew up in.
Monica Jordan is the daughter of James and Tamla Jordan of Ness City. Monica graduated from Ness City High School in May 2024 then began her studies at Washburn University to pursue her business degree. After graduation, she plans to continue her education at Washburn Law to pursue a jurisprudence doctorate.
Taegin Liggett is the daughter of Shane and Tabitha Liggett of Ness City and a Ness City High School graduate. She will attend Fort Hays State University to earn a bachelor’s degree in accounting then build a career in the financial field.
Emma Petersilie the daughter of Travis and Laurie Petersilie, is a Ness City High School graduate. She plans to attend Garden City Community College and major in music. After completing her courses at Garden City, she will transfer to a university to complete her music education degree. She hopes to return to a small rural community to teach and positively influence the lives of young people in rural America.
Jessa York is the daughter of Rodney and Tara York. Jessa graduated from Garden City High School in May 2023 and has been attending Wichita State University since. She has chosen to remain at Wichita State to enter the master’s program to become a speech-language pathologist. Once she completes her degree, she plans to move back to southwest Kansas and work in rural and underserved communities.
