Congratulations to the Lane-Scott Electric Continuing Education Scholarship Recipients
This year, Lane-Scott for the first-time offered eight Continuing Education Scholarships in response to the amazing number of applicants the last several years. The number of applicants really started increasing a few years ago after we expanded the application criteria to include students already attending a college, university, or trade school. This year we again received an amazing thirty applications. “Students have a lot of scholarship opportunities when graduating high school, but there are hardly any available after that point”, said Richard McLeon, Lane-Scott Electric General Manager. “We wanted to award at least some of the scholarship funds to students who show they are committed to the educational path they are already on.”
Applications are accepted from anyone, but priority is given to those whose parents or guardians are Lane-Scott Electric members, students entering into an electric field/trade, or HVAC trade. Applications were evaluated by a committee based on achievements, extra-curricular activities, G.P.A., community and school involvement, as well as future plans.
