Help! I've Hit a Power Line

full width paragraph

First, take a deep breath!

1. Is there a downed power line or anything around that is touching a power line? If so, or you are not sure...

DO NOT GET OUT OF THE VEHICLE

2. Is the vehicle on fire? The only reason to get out is if the vehicle is on fire. Follow the instructions below on the safest way to get out.

3. Is anyone close by? Yell at them and tell them to stay far back, at least 50 feet!

4. Call 911 Immediately! Tell them you've hit a power pole and there's a downed line. Instruct them to immediately call the local electric utility.
