Gary Shapland is a dedicated third-generation farmer from Lane County, where he has continued his family’s rich agricultural legacy. Growing up with a strong work ethic rooted in farming, Gary’s passion for agriculture led him to pursue higher education, attending Seward County Community College and later Fort Hays State University. He was a member of the livestock judging team for four years, gaining invaluable experience and building lasting connections within the agricultural community.
Gary is married to Janet Shapland, and together they have raised three children – Payden, Gentry, and Burke – who have all been influenced by their father’s dedication to both family and farming. In addition to farming, Gary enjoys cheering on the Kansas State Wildcats and attending concerts. Gary’s commitment to his land, his community, and his family continues to define his life, as he works to ensure the success of the Shapland family farm for generations to come.
