September 2026 Newsletter

The September newsletter is packed full of good Lane-Scott information! Read manager's article, "Electricity Brings Everyday Value" looking at the value of electricity, what it makes possible each day, and how Lane-Scott compares to the average U.S. residential electric bill. 

Cooperative News: Read about Cooperative Youth Leadership attendee's camp experience, announcement of the four local organizations receiving this year's Sharing Success Grants, a summary of our Annual Meeting celebrating 85 years of providing power to our members and communities, and announcement of our Back to School Promotion!

A Lane-Scott Electric member satisfaction survey was conducted during second quarter, designed to help us better understand member concerns, identify areas of interest, and how we can improve as a cooperative. In the newsletter, we answer some of the more common questions and concerns shared by our 250+ members surveyed.

The Lane-Scott Electric newsletter as published in the Kansas Country Living magazine, highlights a few of our youth programs and opportunities. We recognize the 2026 Continuing Education Scholarship recipients, feature an article about this year's Electric Cooperative Youth Tour students and their experiences in Washington, D.C., and announce Tate Burrell, a summer intern in the electrician department.

Also featured is the General Manager/CEO article, "Understanding Your Electric Bill" explaining what costs go into energy charges, cost of generation and transmission, and operation and maintenance.
